On the most special day of your life it is so important to find the perfect vendors to work with! This week we will be discussing how to find your perfect photographer. Below we will be going in depth about a few of the questions you should definitely be asking your photographer before you sign a contract! You’ll be working with your photographer closer than with any of your other vendors on this special day so it’s incredibly important to find one that you LOVE!

1. Ask them how they will be keeping your images safe before your gallery is delivered!
Keeping your images safe should be a very high priority for your photographer! The industry standard should be shooting on at least 2 SD cards, backing up all raw files on to an external hard drive as well as keeping them in an online gallery! Files should definitely not be deleted until your full edited gallery has been delivered!

2. Ask them if they offer an engagement session with their wedding packages!

An engagement session is the perfect opportunity to work with them before your wedding day to make sure that you jive with their personality! It is also a great opportunity to see how they work as well as pose and direct their clients during their sessions. Lastly, it will give you an idea of how your photos will be delivered!

3. Ask to view a sample wedding photo timeline or a timeline from the last wedding they did!
Ask to see a photo timeline to see how much time they typically spend on each different part of the wedding day! This will give you a good idea of how much time you need to have for getting ready shots, family shots, couple shots, and all the detail shots!

4. Ask them about all of their different wedding packages and add ons!

It’s important to find out about all of the different packages and add ons that your photographer has to offer! This will give you a full picture of what is important to you on your special day!
Most photographers start with a base price for a full or half day and then offer different add ons so that everyone has a package tailored perfectly for them! This makes creating your budget, as well as figuring out exactly what kind of coverage you want easy and smooth!

5. Ask to view some full wedding galleries that they have delivered!
Lastly, you should always ask to see a full delivered wedding gallery with the same kind of package you’re leaning towards! This will be able to give you an idea of your photographers editing style , which is a very important aspect of working with them! It will also give you a really good idea of your photographers posing and directing style, as well as how many candid vs posed photos you can expect. You will also get a very good idea of the size of gallery that you will receive from your photographer!
