There are many things to consider when booking your vendors for your wedding! These are 5 tips to make sure you have the best team working with you to make your wedding dreams a reality!

#1 – Try to stay within budgets you set for yourselves

Try not to set yourself up for failure, make sure you do your research on the averages of costs in your area before you set your budget! Then after you set that budget, try to stay within it if you can. If you end up falling in love with a vendor way outside of your budget you will be faced with the decision of letting go of the vendor whose work you’ve fallen in love with, or renegotiate your budget and figure out where to make it up!

#2 – Look at your venue restrictions

Always make sure to read through your contract with your venue to make sure that you’re clear on any vendor restrictions that they may have! Some venues require you to use the vendors on their preferred vendor list, others require they have a business license, some have no restrictions. All venues are different, so it’s very important to be sure!

#3 – Make sure your personalities jive

Try to meet with your potential vendors either in person, over zoom, or on the phone, before you sign anything! You’ll have to work with a lot of these vendors very closely in the days leading up to and on your special day. It’s so important to know that you get along with these people, or you may not have a great experience!

#4 – Read their referrals & ask people you know

Make sure you ask to see any up to date client feedback so you can get a feel of what to expect when you work with them! Wedding vendors often work in very close proximity with one another in any given area! Ask your other vendors who they have worked with in the past and if they have any good recommendations if you’re struggling with finding someone.

#5 – Make sure everything you agree upon is in writing

Make sure you sign a contract with all of your vendors to make sure that everything agreed upon is in writing! The biggest mistake to avoid making is leaving anything up to assumption. Make sure that everyone is clear about who is responsible for each task on your special day to make sure that everything gets done with no stress for you on the day of!
